I’m J.W. Carpenter but please call me Joey. I am a Houston native now living in Byhalia, MS, where I worship as a member of Germantown Baptist Church. My journey began in the pews of Houston’s Second Baptist Church under Dr. Ed Young, a mentor whose preaching sparked my hunger for truth. Later, at Champion Forest Baptist and Houston Baptist University, I wrestled with faith in a world loud with doubt and distraction. Those roots—grounded in a Southern Baptist family of preachers and professors—shaped me, but it was a deeper question that defined my calling: What if Jesus is exactly who He claims to be?
That question led to AI vs The Case for Christ: An Impartial Evaluation of Evidence, my debut book, and it’s the heartbeat of every story I tell. Inspired by Lee Strobel’s relentless pursuit of evidence, I set out to explore truth not with blind faith but with rigor, using cutting-edge tools like artificial intelligence to sift through prophecy, history, and sacrifice. My books aren’t just words on a page—they’re invitations to see God’s glory, to find clarity in chaos, and to know Jesus as the unshakable truth.
My mission is simple: to craft stories that glorify God and light a path for others. Whether you’re a believer seeking strength, a skeptic craving reason, or someone lost in today’s digital storm, I write for you. Through books like AI vs The Case for Christ, I aim to cut through the noise, offering evidence and heart to draw you closer to the One who holds all truth. This isn’t about fame or fortune—it’s about faith, shared humbly from a Tennessee pew to wherever you are.
